Uber den Künstler

Jan Hovener is a Dutch artist who began his career as a painter of earthenware at "De Porceleyne Fles" in Delft, the Netherlands. Due to his extensive experience and multiple awards including the "Talensprijs" in 1959, one can clearly see the maturity and personal growth in his impressionistic work.

The artist self-describes himself as a painter with a ‘restless-nature,’ and this is visible in his versatile subject matter and textured brushwork.
Hovener's work can be seen in such institutions as the Horse Race Course Museum in York, the Arboretum Trompenburg in Rotterdam and in the Markiezenhof in Bergen op Zoom, The Netherlands.

After spending most of his life traveling and living abroad as a practicing artist, Hovener has returned to The Netherlands where he continues to work.
