Uber den Künstler

Jürgen Lingl-Rebetez was interested in art from early childhood. He exhibited for the first time at the age of twenty, showing studies of nudes in various techniques. He began a wood sculptor apprenticeship with Master Hans-Joachim Seitfudem after his obligatory civil service. Ligl-Rebetez won the first prize in Munich and Bavaria and second place nation-wide for his submission for his graduation.
In 1996 he moved to Switzerland and a few years later he decided to start creating artworks with a chain saw. He has been living and working in France since 1999. He is known for a large variety of sculptures, from religious subjects to nudes and animals. His works are found both in private and public collections in Europe, the US and Canada and he has won various prizes and awards for his work.
