Koen Vanderstukken

Koen Vanderstukken was born in 1964 in Antwerpen, Belgium. He is a sculptor and decorative glass worker. From 1985 until 1988 he studied Industrial Chemistry and in that same period learned the craft of lampworking with Pieter Dornheim. From 1986 until 1992 he studied at the State Institute of Art Crafts in Mechelen. He ran his own studio in Niel, Belgium from 1990 to 2006. His work has been exhibited in major centres around the world and his glass can be found in many museums and private collections as well as significant public commissions. He has been teaching at the State Institute of Arts and Crafts in Mechelen for ten years and since 2006, he has been a professor and the studio head of the glass department at Sheridan College in Oakville, Canada.
