Hans Verhoef

Hans Verhoef is a Belgian painter who was born in Antwerpen in 1932. Before he moved to India, he had already begun experimenting with painting at an early age. In India, he became fascinated by birds, flowers, and insects. Thereafter he moved to Amsterdam, where he studied the old masters. He admired the old masters’ versatile and complex techniques, especially the painting technique glaze. He employs these techniques in his still lifes, depicting flowers and insects, and his magic realistic works. He has had various exhibitions in the Netherlands and abroad.
